Git resources

I think we're all fairly new with this Git malarkey, so I thought we could put together some links for getting started.

Jeff already posted this link:

I found this one to be good to get started, as it's windows orientated:
I've also just stumbled across GitCasts, which is a collection of Git screencasts, looks pretty good so far (it's all commandline though):

Ok! I finally got something pushed up to my repository. Not that it's worth pulling at this point but at least I am starting to git (sic) the hang of things. I had to just forget about using the UI altogether and go with the command line. I'm not able to merge from cbilson but it looks like he hasn't pushed any changes up so that could be the reason. Sorry for how long this is all taking but learning GIT and WiX at the same time equals steep learning curve (finding VIM thrown into the mix is not helping either).

I'm in the same boat. I got this pdf from PeepCode which is pretty cool, lots of geeky info about how git works behind the scenes. They also do a screencast which is great for leaning the commandline.

Just because I feel like venting right now i want to reiterate that git seems like a real piece of garbage and I wish we were simply using TFS :) There now I feel better.

It turns out that git bash no longer works for me. I open it up and it just spins forever, likewise for any "push" I try to make with the GUI portion of the app it just says "Working..." then never completes. How wonderful.
