Hi, I'm a big fan of the boo and hope that boolangstudio reaches a 1.0 state soon.  I've been following your msgs and saw that there have been drastic improvements in intellisense so I decided to install the latest version of boolangstudio and see for myself.  Well, I had trouble installing it from source.  I kept getting errors about the Pre folder not existing.  However, I downloaded the latest release and installed without a hitch.

When I laoded up a boo project though, I noticed that my tabs were being turned to spaces.  I went to options and changed it to preserve tabs but this setting would not stick.  Also, if I indent more than 2 spaces,  the coloring messes up.  Half of "def" will be the highlighted color and the other half won't be.

I do use a custom color scheme.  I don't know if this could be causing the probs.

Howdy,
Yes, I hear what you're saying. The previous installer you're using is
from our last "official" release, which is under the older, much more
broken system (using nAnt to do the install and only working in the
experimental hive).

We now has a more conventional Setup.exe-based released that works in
the main registry hive, but it isn't distributed in the source code.
There is a weird "bootstrap" situation where, in order to build
BooLangStudio from source, you need: a) wix, b) an existing version of
BooLangStudio and c) the visual studio 2008 SDK installed in order to
build it from scratch.

Iteam B by itself can cause some issues if you don't have binaries
from previous builds around. I definately want to get more eyes on
this version of the software and, in line with your issues, I am
contemplating putting together a Setup.exe-based "alpha" release or
somesuch to give people, like yourself, an oppurtunity in the very
near future to try out a more robust boo experience in vs2008.

When this release gets out there, you'll just need to add wix (you
will already need to have the vs2008 SDK to use BooLangStudio) and
then you can build/install/debug BooLangStudio from source.

My apologies for the inconvenience you're experiencing and I hope it
doesn't reflect negatively on your opinion of the project. I and the
rest of the team will work to address your issues in the very near
future.

Thanks for the feedback,
Jeff

Just wanted to follow up on this and let you know that a binary
release of the latest BooLangStudio is out there, at:

http://www.codeplex.com/BooLangStudio/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=16551

If you dl and install this version, you'll be able to checkout and
build the boolangstudio source, no problem (provided you also install
the VS2008 SDK and WiX 3.x).

I hope this helps.

Yes, the alpha release is great.  Good work.
