Bludo has uploaded a patch.

Description:
This is the first step towards VS2010 compatibility. Most of the legwork has been carried over from the VS2008 code, so as for optimizations and gross overhauls, these are not present. This is solely for the sake of bringing it compatible with up-to-date versions of Visual Studio, MPF, and Boo. The WiX installation is broken, and I'm not familiar enough with WiX to be able to debug it (to be honest, trying to go through the XML was giving me a headache). There are some classes, just from looking at the code during the compatibility changes, that could use some refactoring. I'm hoping that someone with more zeal, time, and experience with a project of this nature can bring it to an Alpha state. If there are any issues when applying the patch (and there likely will be some due to a number of reorganizations of files/folders and library references), please contact me and I will do my best to debug them.

Thanks for the info. I decided to fiddle with it because I was interested in developing for XNA in Boo and unfortunately, SharpDevelop doesn't support content processing. Like I said, there are some problems with WiX right now that I'd like someone with sharper teeth to take a look at that portion, but other than that it's pretty close to compatible from a compilation standpoint. I'll try and submit a patch, but it is a work in progress, so I don't want folks to attempt to grab the source and find out it's not functioning properly.

I think you can submit your changes as a Patch and submit it in the Source Code panel on codeplex. Also, maybe one of the coordinators will give you write permissions also, I can't or I would. This project has been dead for a while and as far as I'm concerned if you want to contribute you can. Thanks!

I've used some of my spare time to update BooLangStudio for use with Visual Studio 2010. It's still incomplete, as there are a number of tweaks/polish that need to be addressed, and I have not got the WiX installation to run properly yet (I'm getting some errors during the MSI execution); but I think it's close or at least on the right track for the most part.

A significant number of changes were not necessary, as most of the MPF and VSSDK members and methods in use remained intact - with the exception of some function call names/properties and some internal MPF members that I had to designate as public to work around. If the project moderator would like a code drop of the work in progress, please let me know, as I'd be happy to have someone with more knowledge of the inner workings of the extension help to complete it.

Hi,
I have boolangstudio installed, and a solution with one boo console app project. When I right click on the project and go to Add -> New Item -> Class I get an error dialog that reads:
"Invalid Parameter
Parameter name: index"
I know this is pretty vague, but I figured I'd give it a shot in case anyone had any ideas.

I'd also be interested in this, though given how late BooLangStudio is, I have resigned myself to using SharpDevelop.

No offsense, but the market window for 2008 has been missed, with most of us Boo fans having had to use #develop for Boo metaprogramming. I think you should now be targeting only VS2010.

I have a number of Boo scripts that are used to import data into db4o. The code has been working for a long time, but after a clean install of Windows 7 Professional x64 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I am now getting the following error. Can anyone assist please? I have checked file/folder permissons to ensure that Network Service has full access, disabled Windows Search Indexer and any Antivirus software too.

I'm reading some Boo material here (http://mysite.mweb.co.za/residents/sdonovan/boo-book.html), and it mentions an ast{} macro for viewing the AST. However, I can't get booish to recognize it. What imports do I need?

Now that VS 2010 is publicly available, has anyone on the BooLangStudio team had a chance to look at the extensibility points?

In another thread, it was mentioned that BLS was more or less on hold at least until VS 2010 was available - just curious if there might be any change in that.

Also, one of the other circumstances causing some delay is the imminent release of VS2010. It turns out that making a language service for vs2005 / '08 is extremely hard and there will supposedly be drastic changes to the API for 2010. So to some extent we're waiting for that to happen and see how much things improve.
